Anuj Gandhi is the Group CEO of IndiaCast, a joint venture
between TV18 and Viacom. Aiming to expand the bouquet of the
group’s channels across geographies and distribution platforms
and to monetise Content Assets of the group, Anuj is heading a
team of professionals for Traditional and New Media Platforms. He
has experience in Platform and Content Monetisation businesses
in Linear (traditional TV channels) and Non-linear (VOD,
Syndication etc.) forms.
With a distinct understanding of the content distribution and platform business, Anuj is leading India’s
only Content Monetisation Company. Anuj has built a smart team to generate new revenue streams and
new opportunities in the traditional as well as New Media segment. Having been recognised for doing this
within his more than 20 years’ worth of experience in senior roles, Anuj is now executing some of these
as Group CEO of IndiaCast.
In addition to Anuj’s responsibility at IndiaCast, he is also involved with Reliance Jio as Head of Content
Acquisition for all Jio Video and Audio Apps. Reliance is India’s fastest growing 4G network.
Earlier, Anuj was a media Consultant for media related projects in Cable TV, Mobile and Internet, where
he has consulted for various distinguished companies. Prior to this, Anuj occupied the post of CEO at Den
Networks Ltd, where his responsibilities included setting, building India’s largest Cable TV company,
systems and processes, negotiations, setting up a joint venture with Star India called Star Den Media
services. Earlier, he was President of Set Discovery Pvt. Ltd, a joint venture he spearheaded between Sony
Entertainment and Discovery Communication.
Having been named the Best Distribution Head in 2005 and Best Distribution Executive in 2002, Anuj
Gandhi was also a member of the Digitisation Committee set up by Indian Government/Regulator. A
graduate from the SP Jain Institute of Management in Management Studies, Anuj’s other interests include
travelling to non-commercial destinations like the mountains, or simply listening to music or reading. An
avid movie watcher, Anuj also maintains interests in sport and keeping fit.
